Terms & Conditions
It is important to us that we build a strong and mutually respectful relationship with our clients, and we don’t expect to need recourse to formal Terms & Conditions often if at all….. we can usually be pretty flexible and will always try to accommodate if plans change etc. However, to ensure things are clear and that we can protect our business if necessary, here are the T&Cs.
The Thinking behind The Payment Structure: Ideally, we want all members of each course to attend week on week for two reasons: 1. because we have a low trainer : dog ratio, a class can easily become too small to provide sufficient distractions etc if any dogs are absent and 2. class content is progressive, so missing a class will be detrimental to ongoing learning. The payment structure supports this, while recognising that it is not always possible to attend a full course without gaps.
Please Note: In the unlikely event that there is a complaint or difficulty, it is important to us that we know about it as soon as it arises. We will do our best to resolve this to everyone’s satisfaction.
Hamble Hounds Terms & Conditions 2016
Puppy Course: Submission of the Reply Email to Hamble Hounds constitutes an Agreement to occupy a place on the course, and the full Course Fee becomes payable whether or not that place is taken up. The fee is payable in full on week 1, or in two instalments, the first instalment payable on week 1 and the second instalment by post-dated cheque payable on week 4 whether or not attendance continues. Refunds are not available unless (1) we are able to fill the place in full or part (refund will be pro rata and less an admin fee) or (2) there are exceptional circumstances and refund is entirely at the discretion of Hamble Hounds. If it is known in advance of booking that some dates cannot be attended, the price may be adjusted by £7 per Tuesday session for a maximum of 2 sessions, provided these dates are shown on the Enrolment Form.
All Other Courses: Submission of the Reply Email to Hamble Hounds constitutes an Agreement to occupy a place on the course, and the full Course Fee becomes payable whether or not that place is taken up. The fee is payable in full on week 1. Refunds are not available unless (1) we are able to fill the place in full or part (refund will be pro rata and less an admin fee) or (2) there are exceptional circumstances and refund is entirely at the discretion of Hamble Hounds.
Bitches In Season: Bitches coming into and in season cannot come to any class. A Credit Note valid for 4 months will be made available in this case.
Individual Sessions & Home Visits: Submission of the Questionnaire Form to Hamble Hounds constitutes an Agreement to pay for a session with a Hamble Hounds trainer for the cost described on the Questionnaire Form. There is no cancellation fee provided that any such meeting is cancelled before the trainer sets out. If there is no cancellation, and the Hamble Hounds trainer travels or begins to travel to the agreed location, the full fee as described on the Questionnaire Form is payable on that day whether or not the meeting takes place.
We hold public and professional liability insurance, to instruct. The owners of our venues do not accept any responsibilities whatsoever for any injuries or losses sustained. Clients should make sure that their dog is covered through their own insurance in case of accident or injury caused to a third person or their dog. The client remains responsible of their dog’s actions at all times. All dogs must be kept on a lead unless specifically requested otherwise.
We may need to manage the movement of dogs carefully depending on the issues present. Please listen to instructions and explanations carefully, and ask if you are unsure. This is particularly important in the “I’m Not Always Nice” series of courses. As a general safety principle, in all circumstances, we advise that no dogs should be approached; if you do it is strictly at your own risk.
