Choosing a Pup….
It is worth taking a great deal of care and thinking time before getting a puppy. They are the most fantastic and fascinating of creatures, but, even for experienced owners, they are without fail time consuming, frustrating, stressful little darlings at times!!
The breeder bears a big responsibility in preparing the pups for, in particular, coping with life’s stressors. Unfortunately some of them do a poor job, either through greed, as in puppy farms, or ignorance, simply not being aware of the complexities.
The problem is that, once one has visited the pups, the heart falls in love and all common sense flies away!! A good idea is to do lots of research and talking BEFORE the visit. The Association of Pet Dog Trainers and Kennel Club websites have sensible suggestions and we are happy to chat too.
